The second edition has been updated significantly to reflect the latest research and current, relevant examples. At the end of each chapter there is a chapter review that summarizes the chapter's content and allows the students to test their knowledge through multiple choice and essay questions. It's difficult to keep it fresh though, so this is something all textbooks suffer. The authors have done an excellent job in maintaining the overall consistency between chapters.
